As spring unfolds across Jordan, anticipation is building for one of the region’s most iconic sporting events—the 30th Bromine Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, set to take place on April 10 along the shores of the legendary Dead Sea.
Organized by Run Jordan, the race has evolved into a globally recognized event that blends endurance, scenery, and cultural connection. What sets this marathon apart is not just its competitive edge, but its extraordinary setting: runners traverse the lowest point on Earth, where dramatic desert landscapes meet the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea.

From elite athletes to amateur runners, participants from around the world are drawn to this unique challenge. The marathon features multiple race categories, including a demanding 50km ultra marathon, a 21km half marathon, and a 10km race. Inclusive sporting spirit is at the heart of the event, with dedicated races for visually impaired participants, wheelchair users, and people with disabilities.
This year, organizers have introduced updated routes for the 50km and 21km races, allowing runners to follow the scenic Dead Sea corniche. The result is an even more immersive experience—where every stride is accompanied by sweeping views of rugged mountains and shimmering blue المياه.
The 50km race has also earned an international Bronze classification, further cementing its place on the global running calendar.
Beyond competition, the marathon carries a strong humanitarian message. In collaboration with Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, 20 percent of registration fees will go toward supporting communities in Gaza—highlighting the event’s commitment to solidarity and social impact.
For travelers, the marathon is more than just a race—it’s an invitation to discover the wonders of the Dead Sea region. Famous for its hypersaline waters, visitors can float effortlessly on its surface, indulge in mineral-rich mud treatments, and unwind in world-class resorts lining the الساحل.
The surrounding landscape offers a striking contrast of desert plains and dramatic escarpments, making it one of the most visually captivating areas in the Middle East. Nearby attractions, including historic sites and nature reserves, add depth to any السفر itinerary.
The celebration of sport extends beyond race day. On April 17, a children’s race will take place at Al Hussein Parks in Amman, welcoming young participants aged 6 to 14. The initiative aims to nurture a love for fitness and encourage healthy competition among Jordan’s youth.
With enhanced logistical planning, certified race routes, and strong institutional partnerships—including cooperation with the Jordan Athletics Federation—organizers are ensuring that this milestone edition meets the highest international standards.
Whether you’re lacing up your running shoes or simply seeking an unforgettable travel experience, the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon offers a rare opportunity to connect sport, nature, and culture in one extraordinary destination.
